Patio and Driveway Pressure Washing in Lawford
A lot of Lawford gardens are long, leafy and sheltered, which is lovely in summer and hard on paving the rest of the year. Patios beneath trees and hedges hold the damp, block-paved drives along the lanes collect mud and leaf litter, and garden paths go slippery by midwinter. DB Professional Services pressure washes them all across the village.

How is pressure washing priced in Lawford?
We price each Lawford driveway, patio and path from photos, because size and surface vary so much. Patios on the shadier, river side of Lawford go green and slippery first. Booked with another one-off service, it gets 10% off. Call 01206 688698 to send your photos.

Shade, mud and the river side of the village
On the lower side of Lawford, towards the Stour and the woodland, sunlight barely reaches some patios between October and March. Algae and moss move in, and fallen leaves stain sandstone and concrete slabs. Homes on the lanes have a different problem: farm traffic brings mud onto the road, and tyres carry it up the drive. On the higher, more open parts of the village, paving dries faster but gathers dust blown off the fields.
Natural stone and older paving
Many Lawford patios are laid in sandstone or other natural stone, and some around the older cottages are well-worn brick. These need a gentler hand than modern concrete block paving. We adjust how we work for each surface, and if any of it is soft, flaking or loose, we’ll tell you before we start rather than find out the hard way.

Looking after gardens and ponds
Lawford gardens tend to be well planted, and plenty have ponds, vegetable beds or borders running right up to the paving. When we wash a patio or path, a lot of dirty water comes off it, so we think about where it will go before we start.
Where we can, we direct the runoff towards drains or areas of lawn rather than into ponds and flower beds. If you have anything delicate next to the paving, such as pots, young plants or garden ornaments, let us know so we can protect it or you can move it beforehand. After the clean we rinse down any splashes on walls, doors and windows nearby, so the patio isn’t the only thing that looks better.
Gravel edges and loose chippings can get disturbed, so it helps to point out any areas you’d like us to steer clear of.
Getting a price
Pressure washing is quoted individually, because a cottage patio and a long lane-side drive have little in common. We look at the size, the surface and how much growth there is. Send us a few photos and rough measurements, or we can take a look when we’re next in Lawford. You can pay by card or direct debit.
When to book
A spring wash brings the patio back in time for summer. Drives along muddy lanes often benefit from an autumn clean too. See everything else we do for homes in the village on our Lawford exterior cleaning page, or read about our pressure washing service.
Pressure washing questions from Lawford
Can you clean a sandstone patio without damaging it?
Yes, with care. We work more gently on natural stone, and if a slab is already soft or flaking we’ll point it out before we begin.
Do you cover homes on the lanes outside Lawford?
Yes. Houses in the countryside around Lawford, Manningtree and Mistley are all covered. Ring 01206 688698 with your address if you’d like to check.
How long will my patio stay clean?
It depends on shade. A sunny patio can stay bright for a good while; one under trees will start to green again sooner. Keeping leaves swept off helps a lot.
Can you also clean steps and garden paths?
Yes. Steps, paths and edging can all be included in the same quote.
Will the dirty water harm my plants or pond?
We take care to direct the runoff away from ponds and borders where we can. Let us know about anything delicate and we’ll plan around it.
