Patio and Driveway Pressure Washing in Wivenhoe
Wivenhoe is hilly by Essex standards, with steep lanes running down to the quay on the Colne and big gardens on the slope above. Green paths and mossy steps are a real slip risk here. We pressure wash drives, patios, paths and steps across Wivenhoe, quoting each job individually.
Because no two pieces of paving are alike, we quote each job on its own; start with the builder below.
Can you pressure wash a patio or driveway in Wivenhoe?
Yes. Send us a few photos of your Wivenhoe driveway, patio or path and we’ll quote you for it. Near the river the air is damp, so paths and patios grow moss readily. Add gutter clearing or another one-off job and both get 10% off. Call 01206 688698 or use the instant quote.

River damp in the old town
Near the river, paving stays damp after every misty morning, so algae returns more quickly than it would further from the water. Shaded front steps and paths down the sides of cottages are the areas we’re asked about most. Older brick and stone in the old town get a gentler approach, and some of the Victorian and Edwardian houses have older tiled front paths that we look at carefully before washing.
Parking near the quay can be tight, so we agree access with you before the day.
Gardens up the hill
Further up, the larger houses often have generous gardens with patios beneath mature trees, which stay shaded and green through winter. Towards Wivenhoe Park, newer homes have block-paved drives that collect moss in the joints near the parkland trees. Patios with a view of the river are often in full sun, so they dry quickly and green up more slowly once clean.
Planning the visit
Narrow lanes near the quay mean we plan parking ahead, and we’ll need an outside tap. On steep paths and steps, we work from the top down and rinse carefully so dirty water doesn’t collect at the bottom or against a door. Once it’s dry, the paving is noticeably less slippery underfoot.
Many of the homes on the hill have terraced gardens with steps between levels, and every step is cleaned. Older brick steps near the quay can be uneven or worn, and we check them over before washing. Where joints have washed out, we’ll suggest re-pointing or fresh sand before the weeds return. On the newer estates near the park, block-paved drives usually come back close to their original colour.
How we clean your paving
Before the pressure washer comes out, we clear the area of debris. Edges along lawns and borders are washed carefully so soil isn’t splashed across the paving. Splashes on walls, doors and windows are rinsed off as we go. We leave it rinsed and clear, with the dirt washed away.

Weeds and moss in the joints
Weeds love the gaps in Wivenhoe block paving, especially where silt and moss have built up. Pressure washing lifts most of them out along with their roots. Deep-rooted weeds can return, so keeping the joints clear afterwards, and topped up with sand, helps the result last.
