Solar Panel Cleaning in Clacton-on-Sea
Clacton is known for its sunshine, which is why so many bungalows and houses in the town have solar panels. To get the full benefit, though, the glass needs to be clean. DB Professional Services is based in Cann Hall, CO16, and we clean panels all over Clacton with pure water.
Panels are priced individually, so the quote builder below gives you the full cost before you book.
What does it cost to clean solar panels in Clacton-on-Sea?
Each panel costs £8 to clean for systems of up to 16 panels in Clacton-on-Sea, or £7 each for 17 to 25. A 10-panel system is £80. Salt spray off the sea crusts onto panels, especially in the streets nearest the seafront. Pure, filtered water dries clear with no residue. Call 01255 762761 for larger arrays.

Bungalow roofs and beach sand
Lots of Clacton’s solar sits on bungalow roofs around Rush Green, Great Clacton and Bockings Elm, where low, wide roofs make a good spot for an array. Those roofs also catch sand and grit lifted off the beach, and gulls are never far away.
Salt in the air dries on the glass and binds the dust together, building a film that rain alone won’t shift. Droppings, meanwhile, sit in one place and shade the cells beneath them.
Clacton’s flat, open landscape helps panels collect plenty of light, but it also means there’s little shelter from the wind. On blustery days, grit and sand travel a long way inland, and the bungalows and semis around Bockings Elm and Great Clacton get their share. The bottom edge of each panel, where water runs off, is usually the dirtiest part. Over time, a line of grime builds up along the frame that rain can’t reach, and it can start to shade the lowest row of cells. Clearing that band is one of the first things we do on every Clacton clean.
How we clean them
We use pure water, with the minerals filtered out, so the glass dries clear with no residue. There are no detergents involved. Gull droppings get extra attention and are softened before they’re rinsed away, rather than scraped.

Checking your generation
Most modern solar systems come with an app or a display on the inverter that shows how much electricity the panels are producing. It’s worth noting the figures on a few sunny days before a clean and comparing them afterwards. The difference depends on how dirty the panels were, so a set covered in salt film and gull mess may show a clear jump, while lightly dusty panels will change less.
Clacton is one of the sunnier places in the country, so there’s plenty of light to make use of. Keeping the glass clean helps your system make the most of it, especially through the long summer days.
If your figures drop suddenly between cleans, it’s usually a fresh dropping or a fault rather than general dirt, and it’s worth checking.
Clacton solar cleaning prices
£8 per panel for systems of up to 16 panels, and £7 per panel from 17 to 25. A full 16-panel bungalow array is therefore £128. If you have more than 25 panels, we’ll quote you. Pay by card or direct debit.
How often
Being near the coast, Clacton panels collect salt faster than inland ones, so a clean every six to twelve months suits most homes. More of what we do locally is on our Clacton-on-Sea exterior cleaning page, and the service is explained on our solar panel cleaning page.
Solar panel cleaning questions from Clacton-on-Sea
Do panels by the sea need cleaning more often?
Usually, yes. Salt and sand settle on the glass faster near the coast, so seafront homes may want a clean twice a year.
Can you remove gull droppings?
Yes. They’re softened with pure water and rinsed off, so the glass isn’t scratched.
Is my part of Clacton covered?
We cover the whole of Clacton, plus Holland-on-Sea and Jaywick. Call 01255 762761.
How do I pay?
By card or direct debit.
Will I notice a difference in my generation?
It depends how dirty the panels were. Panels with heavy salt film or droppings often show a noticeable improvement; lightly dusty ones change less.
