Solar Panel Cleaning for Jaywick Homes
Jaywick sits right behind the sea wall, and solar panels here take more salt and blown sand than almost anywhere else we work. Many of the rebuilt and newer homes in Jaywick now have panels, usually on low, fairly shallow roofs. We clean them with pure water, a few minutes’ drive from our base.
Pricing is simple, per panel, and you’ll see the total before you book.
How much does solar panel cleaning cost in Jaywick?
Solar panel cleaning in Jaywick costs £8 a panel for up to 16 panels and £7 a panel for 17 to 25. A 14-panel roof is £112. Salt from over the sea wall leaves a hazy film on panels. We use purified water and soft brushes, with no detergents. Ring 01255 762761 or use the instant quote.

Salt haze and blown sand
Two things dull Jaywick panels. The first is salt, carried on the wind and dried onto the glass as a thin haze. It scatters light and holds onto dust, so output falls gradually and is easy to miss from the ground. The second is sand. It drifts over the sea wall, settles on the panels and works into the frames.
On a shallow roof, rain doesn’t wash either of them away. It simply carries the grit down to the bottom edge of each panel and leaves it there as a band, right over the lowest row of cells.
Single-storey homes, quick to reach
Most homes in Jaywick, Seawick and the streets towards the golf course are single-storey, so panels are at a comfortable height and the clean is quick. We soak the salt and sand first so nothing gritty is dragged across the glass, then rinse it all away with pure water.
Homes closest to the sea wall usually benefit from two cleans a year, one in spring and one after the autumn gales. Further back, once a year is normally enough.
Close to the sea, close to our base
Jaywick is only a few minutes from our base, so fitting in a panel clean is easy. Single-storey homes make panels straightforward to reach too.
The sea is the issue. On shallow roofs, rain just moves the grit down to the bottom edge, where it gathers in a band.
Pure water, every time
We clean solar panels with pure water, which has had its minerals filtered out. No soap means no film left behind to collect dust. Stubborn spots are loosened first, so there’s no need to scrape. They’re left clean and drying in the sun.

Bird droppings and shading
On a Jaywick roof, a single bird dropping can shade a whole cell, and because cells are linked together, the drop in output can be bigger than the size of the mark suggests. Droppings don’t wash off in the rain, so they stay put until someone cleans them.

Solar panel cleaning in Jaywick: your questions
Is salt bad for my panels?
It leaves a film that holds dust and reduces output. A pure water clean removes it.
Do you cover Seawick?
Yes, along with Jaywick, St Osyth and Clacton. Call 01255 762761.
Will sand scratch my panels?
We don’t scrub grit across the glass. Pure water rinses it off.
What if I have more than 25 panels?
We’ll give you an individual quote. Tell us how many panels and where they’re mounted.
Do new panels need cleaning?
Yes. Even new panels collect dust, pollen and droppings.
