Solar Panel Cleaning in Mistley
Mistley stretches along the Stour from the quay and the maltings up to Mistley Heath, and solar panels near the water have a particular problem: birds. We clean panels across the village with pure water, from riverside homes to newer houses up the hill.
Tell the quote builder how many panels you have and you’ll get a Mistley price straight away.

Estuary birds and damp air
Swans, gulls and waders gather on the estuary all year, and droppings are the main complaint on panels near the quay. They block the light from the cells beneath and don’t wash off in the rain. The damp air off the river helps lichen settle along the bottom of the frames.
Panels on riverside homes are often on south-facing slopes over the water, so they get plenty of sun, and keeping them clean pays off.
Up towards Mistley Heath
Further up the hill, homes are more open to the wind and pick up dust from the fields beyond the village, along with pollen from the gardens and woods around Mistley Heath each spring. A yearly clean suits most homes; riverside homes that the birds favour may want two.
Any size of system
Up to 25 panels is priced per panel, and bigger systems get a quote. Panels on garages and outbuildings count towards the same total.
From the quay to the Heath
Panels on homes near the quay deal mainly with droppings and the damp; those up towards the Heath see more pollen in spring and more leaves in autumn. Either way, a yearly clean with pure water keeps them working well.
If you’re near the river and see the birds perching on your roof regularly, twice a year may be worth it. Riverside panels may need two cleans a year.
What we do
The glass is cleaned with water that has been filtered to remove its minerals. It rinses grime away and dries perfectly clear. We pay attention to the frame edges, where moss and lichen can take hold. The result is clear glass that lets the light through.
Birds nesting underneath
Pigeons and other Mistley birds sometimes nest in the gap under panels, bringing twigs and leaving droppings. If we see signs of nesting while cleaning, we’ll let you know so you can speak to your installer about it.
